My Gmail or Outlook mailbox will not connect
Gmail and Outlook both need their own special sign-in settings for SMTP. Your normal webmail password is often not enough on its own.
- For Gmail: use smtp.gmail.com, port 587, TLS, and your full Gmail address as the username. Create an App Password in your Google Account (2-Step Verification, then App passwords) and use that as the SMTP password.
- For Outlook or Microsoft 365: use smtp.office365.com, port 587, TLS, and your full email address as the username. SMTP sending must be allowed on the mailbox — if your organisation manages it, your IT admin may need to turn SMTP AUTH on.
- After connecting, always click Send test email before you start a campaign, so a login problem shows up here and not halfway through a campaign.
- Your SMTP password is stored encrypted and is never shown back to you. When you edit a mailbox, the password field is empty on purpose — only type a new one if you want to change it.
