Help Center › Media Lists: Mailboxes & Campaigns
How do I run an email campaign?
A campaign is four steps in order: connect a mailbox, build a list, write a short sequence, then start it. Campaigns send from your own mailbox, so replies land in your own inbox.
- Connect a mailbox in Mailboxes and click Send test email until it succeeds. You can write a campaign before this, but it cannot start sending until a mailbox is connected.
- Build a list first in Search, using the filters in the filtering article. Campaigns only send to saved lists, never straight from a search page.
- Go to Campaigns, then New campaign. Give it a name, pick the list, and pick the sending mailbox if you have one connected.
- Open the campaign and write 1 to 3 steps. Step 1 needs both a subject and a message body. Steps 2 and 3 are follow-ups: either fill both subject and body, or leave a step fully blank to skip it, and fill steps in order.
- Set the follow-up delay in days for steps 2 and 3. Step 1 sends as soon as a recipient is due; follow-ups send after the delay you set.
- Personalise with {first_name}, {name} and {outlet} — for example, Hi {first_name}, I follow your work at {outlet}. Every email automatically ends with a short opt-out line.
- Start the campaign. Only list contacts with a publicly listed email are included, duplicates are removed, and sending runs every few minutes at about one email per second, up to 300 per day per mailbox and 5 campaigns running at once. You can pause a campaign at any time, and the campaign page shows sent counts per step and per recipient.
